However, in extraordinary circumstances and for significant reasons, a man or woman who has reached the age of sixteen may be allowed to marry by a judge. If possible, the opinions of the parents or guardians are heard before making a decision.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_auto\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_275474cc has_text_color\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2 data-start=\"126\" data-end=\"186\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"LEGAL_ASPECTS_OF_THE_MARRIAGE_IN_TURKEY\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"126\" data-end=\"184\">LEGAL ASPECTS OF THE MARRIAGE IN TURKEY<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"134\" data-end=\"413\">In Turkey, <strong data-start=\"145\" data-end=\"157\">marriage<\/strong> is a <strong data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"184\">legal institution<\/strong> extensively regulated by the <strong data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"236\">Turkish Civil Code<\/strong>. The <strong data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"256\">Civil Code<\/strong> provides the <strong data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"301\">fundamental legal framework<\/strong> regarding the <strong data-start=\"316\" data-end=\"385\">formation, dissolution, and the rights and obligations of spouses<\/strong> within the marital union.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"903\"><strong>For a marriage in Turkey to be validly established, certain conditions prescribed by law must be fulfilled.<\/strong> According to the Turkish Civil Code, the <strong data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"640\">free consent of individuals with legal capacity to marry<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"679\">official marriage contract<\/strong> are <strong data-start=\"684\" data-end=\"710\">essential requirements<\/strong> for the <strong data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"754\">formation of marriage in Turkey<\/strong>. Additionally, there must be <strong data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"813\">no impediment to marriage<\/strong>, and the parties\u2019 <strong data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"900\">consent must be given freely without coercion, mistake, or fraud<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"1648\">Once a <strong data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"934\">marriage in Turkey<\/strong> is established, <strong data-start=\"951\" data-end=\"984\">mutual rights and obligations<\/strong> arise between the spouses. Within this framework, spouses are responsible to each other for duties such as <strong data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1153\">fidelity, cohabitation, mutual assistance, and solidarity<\/strong>. Moreover, the rules of the <strong data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1209\">marital property regime<\/strong> play a <strong data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1237\">significant role<\/strong> within the marital union.
